Who's Behind It?

Polaris are a UK based company that have been producing technical cycling clothing for over 20 years now. Under the watchful eye of founder Roger Dillon, they started off developing kit for mountain bikers in the '90s. With oodles of experience, Roger committed to diversifying into all areas of cycling and Polaris now has successful road, urban and trail ranges.

From their humble base in Derbyshire, Polaris has developed into a truly international brand, with their kit worn by cyclists worldwide. What makes Polaris stand out for VeloVixen is that we feel their design team truly understand the needs of female cyclists in terms of fit, function and design.

Chantelle Matthews, head designer and keen mountain biker, has developed the Polaris women's range in collaboration with a predominantly female design team. They take into account all of the different shapes and sizes, and work hard to ensure a considerate fit and contoured design, so every individual wearing Polaris gear looks and feels comfortable in the saddle.

  1. Good quality but pad fit let it down

Review by TinyLittleTrucker (Posted on March 30, 2016)

First, these seem like great quality shorts overall and the fit on the legs and waist was good. However unfortunately while riding I found that the pad, while more than wide enough on the bum area while standing, was a bit too narrow in the wrong place while riding. This meant my seat bones pressed directly on the very edge of the padding, resulting in major chafing - ouch! A real shame that I won't be able to use these, as otherwise they seemed excellent.

VeloVixen says: We're sorry to hear that you had trouble with the Adventure Shorts. We chose to include them in the range because of their combined excellent quality and price, and have up until now received only good feedback. Thank you for letting us know about your issue, we will certainly pass this feedback on. x
