Svelte's Geo Pink Arm Warmers are the essence of cycling accessorising. Thought arm warmers were a drab and unnecessary addition to your wardrobe? Think again. On two fronts: first, just look at those graphics, which will be the envy of any peloton you find yourselves in. In our experience, you'll probably also have to fend off admiring glances and questions from your fellow road users!
And second: Svelte Arm Warmers are just so incredibly useful. Until you've used high quality, fleece lined, well fitted arm warmers like these you won't believe the difference their wind protective thermal properties can make to your temperture on the bike. Or how inconspicuously packable they are when you warm up and pull them off.
The only difficulty is choosing which of Svelte's designs to pick!
Measure carefully and comfortably around your bicep at its broadest point - or, if you're used to arm warmers, where you'd position the top grip cuff. Then...
X-Small: Bicep 20-23cm (8-9"), Sleeve Length 38cm (15")
Small: Bicep 25-28cm (10-11"), Sleeve Length 41cm (16")
Medium: Bicep 30-33cm (12-13"), Sleeve Length 46cm (18")
Large: Bicep 35-38cm (14-15"), Sleeve Length 51cm (20")
Note: although these are the official size guide from Svelte, we have found that in practice people often exchange their Svelte arm warmers for one size up. If you're uncertain about size, go for the larger of the two!
- Brushed fleecy interior for warmth and effective protection against the wind
- Silicon gripper to prevent slipping down your arm
- Unique graphics
Svelte was born and bred in London, where founder Tom Barber and the team are still based. As a young project, they've ensured from Day 1 that they draw on the UK's rich cycling heritage, whilst infusing it with a distinctly 21st century twist. Their aim is to 'forge the connection between the rider and the bike itself'. Their designs 'subtly, yet exquisitely, convey the beautiful unity of cycling, elegance and lifestyle'.
These are big aims, but from the outset it's hard to argue that they are indeed creating an 'elegantly versatile connection between the bicycle and the clothing that rides it'. They appeal equally to hardened road cyclists looking for something distinctive and authentic just as much weekend potterers looking for the same. Their attention to detail belies their relative recent launch. And their insistence on getting the fit just right is exceptional.
And on top of all that, they source their materials ethically and manufacture whenever possible in London.
So, a small, authentic, passionate company producing gear that looks great both on and off the bike, and performs equally well. It wasn't a hard decision for us to make friends with Svelte!
