Last week we made London's ExCel Centre our home for 4 days as we took part in the London Bike Show, one of the UK's largest cycling conventions.
If you weren't able to make it down, don't panic, we showcase the best clothing and accessories on offer on the VeloVixen stand as picked by our customers at the show.
We love a good brew at VeloVixen and it would seem so do our loyal customers. Over the 4 days we could barely keep these Ginger & French bicycle mugs on the shelves, with people commenting on their chic, clean and stylish design.
With two sizes of mugs available, the smaller in 8 colours (£14 each) and the larger (£16 each) in either red or grey, it's safe to say that whatever caffeinated beverage you're partial to we have a colour/size combo for you.
If you're like most of those visiting our stand and you like your mugs in a complete set, we've created a bundle so you can have a Ginger & French 4-pack of mugs for the price of 3!
There were many oohs and aahs and much drooling whenever people cast their eyes over the NEW Primal 2015 range. Although we knew we were onto something special after the reaction when we launched the range on our site, it was wonderful to see that reaction first hand.
Popular pieces included the Le Grand jersey and matching Noir jersey and bib short set, but the runaway success of the show was the striking striped Bold jersey and elegant Libra women's cycling Skort. Those who bought the Skort appreciated the versatility and coverage offered and were over-the-moon that they'd finally found something they felt comfortable cycling in and relaxing off the bike in.
Adding a dollop of class to the commuter section of the VeloVixen stand, the stunning Hill & Ellis pannier bags were snapped up by a number of chic cyclists who sniffed out the luxurious leather.
It was Dorothy (£220) who caught the eye of most of our stylish customers who couldn't resist the soft, supple leather and custom-printed striped cotton lining. The classic styling of Freddie (£190), a cutting edge satchel style combined with endless useful features, came a close second.
Chock full of clever cycling specific features, the Hill & Ellis pannier bags have crafty details such as reversible reflective strips for increased visibility. There's even a separate leather pouch containing a reflective waterproof rain cover for those really wet days - the leather is durable but this will ensure it doesn't weather too fast on damp days.
Hill & Ellis panniers are definintely bags for life and will only get better with age!
4) Matching Morvelo
Satorially savvy shoppers were drawn in their droves to the matching bib short and jersey combinations from Brighton-based clothing brand Morvélo. The most popular combination was the Velocissime design, featuring bold celeste-coloured circles on a cream background, giving a quasi-vintage feel.
The Velocissime jersey and bib short combination embodies all that we love in cycling kit: beautifully made from a technical standpoint, a stunningly eye-catching design befitting a proudly creative firm - and surprisingly good value.
Our visitors also loved the Morvelo gilets, armwarmers and overshoes that complimented more subtle kit they already had in their closets. The Lucky Blue and Pink (£80 each) Hemisphere gilets went down a storm with their pop of colour and many said that they'd also wear them with running outfits.
The Morvelo Velocissime jersey and bib short bundle is £140, or can be bought separately for £60 (jersey) and £90 (bib shorts).
With more festivals celebrating vintage cycling such as Eroica Britannia coming to the shores of the UK, retro cycling kit is becoming ever more popular. Cue Veeka who have created a range of stunning classic cycling gloves that aesthetically hit the vintage nail on the head.
It was a real pleasure to hear about and see photographs of the bikes and outfits the gloves would be joining. And it's fair to say that these Veeka gloves were a hit among both the male and female visitors to the show.
With so many out and proud cyclists at the Show it was unsurprising that our range of bicycle t-shirts were such a huge hit. From the bright hues of Morvelo's handprinted 'Hills' design (£25) to Primal's 'Live, Love, Ride' number, our visiting Vixens couldn't get enough of them.
We even had Aoife Glass of Total Women's Cycling fame drop by and purchase a couple. Check out Aoife modelling her NEW 2015 Primal 'Live, Love, Ride' T-shirt above (£18), proudly donned for the remainder of the show!
Already hailed as the 'Sex & The City' of cycling pants by Total Women's Cycling and on the receiving end of stonking praise from road.cc, we were excited to see the reaction to the Urbanist chamois knickers for ourselves. Little did we know what we were letting ourselves in for.
Unsurprisingly both Bettie and Brigitte raised a titter or two from passers-by, who may or may not have realised the knickers had a quality Italian chamois pad sewn into the crotch for cycling comfort. For those who were in the know and had already seen them online, they were excited to get hold a pair in the flesh and see what all the fuss was about.
We'll admit to being taken aback when one lady came to stock up on the beautifully striped Brigitte. She told us how comfortable they had been keeping her derrière comfy beneath her unpadded bib tights on 100 mile rides over the winter. Chapeau! The same lady even picked up a pair of the Bettie pants for commuting.
