We’re witnessing a huge influx in the range of cycle clothing available to women. It’s wonderful.

Our job is to comb through the hoards and select the key ranges that are durable, comfortable and well-fitting. We also know the importance of kit that is good value for money and stylish to boot. We believe this balance is achievable.

The humble women’s cycle jersey is where we have seen brands shaking it up the most. With fresh new designs, the jerseys available showcase impressive fit and functionality, performing impeccably when worn on the bike.

We are delighted to reveal the best short sleeve summer women’s cycle jerseys the industry has to offer, all of which we’re proud to have in the VeloVixen range.

1. Polaris Vision Cycling Jersey £65

Best For: Good value all rounder

Polaris Vision Cycling Jersey £65

Polaris is the brand we have held our hands up and admitted we had all wrong. Since joining our ranks back in 2015 our customers have been thoroughly impressed by how the kit punches well above its weight for such a reasonably priced collection.

Cut from lightweight, CoolDry fabric, you'll keep cool when pedalling hard in this fresh, technical Vision jersey. Pull the half-point zipper down, when ever you need an extra cool down.

The classic rear pockets are well positioned, with a vertical zip to help store your valuables safely. The strong, vibrant colours and on-trend pattern add the finishing touches.

Not only is the Vision jersey available in three different colourways, there are also matching shorts to complete the look.

2. Queen of the Mountains Race Jersey £120

Best For: Breaking those QoM's on Strava

Queen of the Mountains Founder Alicia Bamford sporting the Race jersey £120

The Race jersey is part of the Queen of the Mountains collection, the latest range we're excited to welcome to the VeloVixen den. The slick new women's road cycling range is the brainchild and labour of love of Alicia Bamford.

Alicia had the epiphany to start her own women's cycle clothing brand while cycling 1,000km for charity across the French Alps. As you do! She wanted to help fuel the growth of women's cycling with kit that is fresh, visible and fits the female form perfectly. And oh, has she delivered.

After close to a decade in the financial industry, Alicia took the plunge and began building her dream with the help of a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign. Reaching her funding goal meant Queen of the Mountains successfully launched in early 2016 and this jersey, fresh from the Italian factory floor, is one of the first garments from the collection.

With an exceptional eye for detail, Alicia has ensured each piece of kit (there are also shorts, arm warmers and base layers in the range) is made to the highest quality.

Queen of the Mountains Race jersey available in Coral or Aqua £120

Made from a lightweight 4-way stretch, quick drying fabric, this jersey will keep you cool and dry in the hot summer months. Every detail is carefully considered, from the rear waterproof zipped pocket for your mobile phone and valuables, to the stretchable fabric at the shoulders to offer extra comfort as you ride.

The race jersey is form fitting, so if you like a looser feel we recommend opting for the size up. A strikingly coloured, tailored jersey that will leave you feeling like a Queen of the Mountain (sorry).

If you like this jersey but prefer a more relaxed fit, opt for the 'Classic' jersey from the Queen of the Mountains range. It still has the same eye-watering attention to detail, but offers more give.

3. HOY Vulpine Senko Vest Jersey £85

Best For: Ultimate performance without looking too showy. Spinning and those HOT summer days.

HOY Vulpine Senko Vest Jersey available in White or Purple £85

What happens when the most decorated Olympian joins forces with British cycle style clothing gurus Vulpine? A tasteful, sporty road cycling clothing collaboration for us to swoon over, that's what.

In early 2015 HOY Vulpine launched with their Sportive collection, aimed at the 'normal' every day rider. The brand grew successfully over winter, and now their most recent spring/summer collection - which, we're proud to showcase - includes a new high-end Senko range.

HOY Vulpine Senko Vest Jersey available in White or Purple £85

The classy Senko vest may look subtle and understated but trust us, it packs a punch on fit and function. Two angled rear pockets provide easy access, so you won't be fumbling around for your goodies while cycling.

Made from a lightweight Italian compression fabric the Senko jersey is a snug fit, but the sleeveless style combined with Coolmax mesh side panels offer additional ventilation so you certainly won't overheat in this. If the Senko vest's fit isn't your cup of tea we recommend the HOY Vulpine Sportive collection, a more everyday style and fit.

P.S. Don't worry, Vulpine have forgotten about their bread and butter kit. The award winning company now have two successful branches to their clothing empire. Their original range Vulpine Green, which continues to evolve and improve each season. And HOY Vulpine, which arrived with VeloVixen in 2015 to the delight of our customers.
