*Voted "Best MTB Clothing 2016" by Total Women's Cycling readers*
Flare's Roost Downhill polyester long sleeve jersey has all the qualities you need to shred the muddy tracks effectively without wondering whether the average top will really hold up or not (worse case scenario). Basically you need a durable jersey that can withstand whatever the trails throw at you. Be that mud, leaves or a spiky twig. So when it's warm out or cooler than expected, a long sleeve Flare jersey is a no-brainer really.
Roost Downhill is a sweat wicking jersey, so sweat will stay clear from the skin and absorb into the material - so there's no 'hanging around' (so to speak). The jersey fabric also provides better airflow around the body during hard pedalling - even powering downhill can be a sweaty job too! Pretty rad so far...
Mud splattered goggles/ glasses will happen - more so, if you've been loose from top to bottom! So give them a once-over with the hidden wipe.
Why not kit your self out with comfortable, performing and (of course) 'statement piece' MTB kit. This jersey will definitely start you off or complete your already existing MTB selection.
Did we also mention Flare Clothing Co design and make all of their products in the UK, so they can support local manufacturers and keep a close eye on quality. Lovely!
The Roost Downhill Jersey has no mechanical stretch, so if you're inbetween sizes, we recommend sizing up.
- 100% Coolmax Polyester
- Wicking & breathable
- Hidden glasses wipe
- Sizes XS-XL (UK 8-16)
In the summer of 2014 we plunged into the world of mountain bike kit, teaming up with Brit brand Flare Clothing Co.
High quality women's mountain biking clothing is thin on the ground, so we were excited when we came across newly-launched Flare Clothing. Nottingham-based founder and creator Hannah Myers created a broad range of women's MTB kit that's as dazzling and creative as anything out there. And there's no stinting on quality either.
Proudly designed - and mostly made - in the UK we're smitten with the Flare collection. It's colourful, graphic, technical and durable. From cross-country to free ride and downhill, what ever your style, we're certain you'll stand out in Head Designer Hannah's kit.
Flare Clothing fills a much-needed gap in the market - in Hannah's own words, 'I wanted to ride my bike and look like a girl while I was'. And from the quality of the riders that Flare sponsor, these girls mean business. Now you can be a proudly rad/gnarly/stoked (delete as appropriate) female mountain biker, without having to resort to guys' kit.
