Details

Part of Gore's C7 collection, the GORE-TEX® Shakedry Viz Jacket sports a sleek 'Slim' fit that is deemed their most 'cycle-specific' cuts. Engineered to be worn on the bike - whether in the mountains or on the road - all of the jacket's features work best for riding.

Gore's C7 Shakedry Viz Jacket is made from lightweight, extremely breathable, durably waterproof and windproof GORE-TEX® Active Shakedry fabric. The world-leading material will keep the rain and wind off you, while breathability remains key to keeping you comfortable from start to finish. This jacket can battle most elements but performs exceptionally well in rainy and windy conditions at around 5° - 15°C.

You'll find the GORE-TEX® Active fabric is quieter than most waterproof jackets and doesn't resemble the sound or feel of a plastic bag. It's also incredibly light, with this jacket coming in at 95 grams (size Large), a perfect packable shell for those days when the weather looks temperamental.

Cycling specifics include back zipped stow pocket, draped back to keep road spray at bay, elasticated sleeve cuffs, reflective print, elastic hem and zip tags for easy opening while wearing cycling mitts.

A real power-house in the waterproof jacket arena, the C7 GORE-TEX® Shakedry Viz Jacket will become your go to jacket when the weather takes a turn for the worse.

Size Guide

Gore have three levels of fit across their ranges; slim, form and active fit.

1) Slim Fit - a more relaxed 'Active' fit than their other cuts. Although engineered to be worn on the bike - whether on the road or trails - it's a versatile piece that's also ideal for running or hiking. The C3 range encompasses the slim fit.

2) Form Fit - The 'Form' fit sits in the middle of Gore's cuts. Engineered to be worn on the bike - whether in the mountains or on the road - it's also suitable for out of the saddle too. Look for the C5 level of products.

3) Active Fit - Garments are designed for the specific sport they're to be worn for. Cycling jackets are cut specifically for cycling and perform best on the bike. It's the most form-fitting of their cuts and includes C7 level products.

Who's Behind It?

When Bill Lee Gore founded Gore in 1958, it all started with a father-son experiment in their basement insulating electrical wires. It evolved over the years until they became recognised experts at making 'microporous' plastics - materials that let certain liquids and gases through in certain directions.

Sounding familiar yet? It should - this was where Gore-Tex came from. Like hoovers, velcro and sellotape, Gore-Tex has become a household name - today it's synonymous with waterproof kit that keeps you totally dry from the rain whilst remaining breathable and unsweaty.

But all waterproofs are not alike, and Gore-Tex remain ahead of the field for waterproofing technology, making waterproof gear like the ground-breaking, gob-smacking ShakeDry, that still keeps them ahead of the pack.

And now it's more than just practical and brilliant - recent years have seen them begin to create ranges that look every bit as awesome as they work - understatedly cool and flattering.

  1. Best Waterproof

    Review by sallyh1357

Recently bought this and wore it for the first time on Sunday. Kept me warm and dry in torrential rain. Very comfortable and light. Packed small to fit in my jersey pocket and forgot it was there until I needed it. Washed it when I got home due to mud splatter; it dried quickly after washing. Really pleased with it and would recommend it.

  2. Absolutely brilliant waterproof!

    Review by Novembergirl

Wore this for the first time yesterday. It rained/snowed continually on my 50 mile ride and I was warm and dry as a bone at the end. It’s so light and comfortable to wear. Very pleased especially at the sale price.
