The Emergency Rain Jacket gives you a waterproof rating of 10,000 mm water column that resists light rain and showers extremely well. It's not designed for an all-day rain ride but it's just right for stowing in a jersey pocket for those emergency situations. The only real compromise compared to Castelli's top-of-the-line offerings is in breathability but that's not so key for a passing shower.
The fit, as with all Castelli garments, is refined and tuned to be just right when on the bike. It's close to lessen flapping but it's still roomy enough to slip on over your Gabba, the slight amount of fabric stretch helping you to layer underneath.
For your riding days when you're just not sure if you'll get hit by a heavy shower, this jacket is easily stowed in a pocket just in case. It's so light and easy to stow there's no reason not to take it with you and weighs in at only 149g (for a small).
- Deluge Light 2.5-layer waterproof fabric - 10,000 mm water column
- Slight amount of stretch for excellent fit in riding position
- Innovative 'gutters' drain water away from hands and off back
- Waterproof zipper and seam sealing keep all water out
- Temperature ange 6 - 20 degrees
- Weight 149g (Small) - Folds very small
- Wind Protection - 4/5
- Water Protection - 5/5
- Insulation - 2/5
- Breathability - 2/5
- Lightweight - 4/5
Castelli Size Guide
Where Castelli once had a reputation for making gear that suited only very small Italian folk, the Castelli women's size scale is now very similar to 'normal' UK sizing.
That said, it is primarily designed with a snug fit in mind, so if you prefer more room or are between sizes, go up rather than down. If you are still unsure, feel free to contact us.

Q. What do a 19th century Italian tailor, a designer for the Milan Ballet and the first ever lycra cycling shorts have in common?
A. They are all part of a rich 140 year history that's led to today's most recognised brand in cycling: Castelli.
Throw in a heart attack on a famous Italian climb, family feuds, Olympic gold medals and controversy in the pro peloton and it begins to sound more like a Sicilian soap opera than the backdrop to a cycling brand. But then again Castelli is no ordinary brand.
Today, Castelli's scorpion emblem is arguably the single most recognised in cycling. Iconic is an overused word these days, but the Castelli brand surely qualifies.
We first discovered Castelli on our year long ride through the Americas in 2010, when our founder Liz (pictured) wore Castelli shorts and loved them, so stocking them seemed an obvious choice. But we're almost as captivated by the story behind the name as the kit itself! For the full Castelli story (it's quite a story!), click here.
We aim to dispatch all orders within 2-3 working days, often sooner. Within the UK we use Royal Mail's Tracked service - you will receive a tracking code with your order once it is shipped.
