Castelli's ground-breaking Gabba jersey was born nearly a decade ago. In 2010 they launched their first Gabba for the elite peloton - and overnight it changed how they raced and trained in the rain and cold. So revolutionary was it that there were stories aplenty of pros not sponsored by Castelli using it and taping over the scorpion logo.
Whilst not fully waterproof as such, the original Gabba was so adept at keeping the upper body warm and comfortable - much like a wetsuit might - that thousands of amateur cyclists were soon wearing as their default top the moment the clouds rolled in.
Fast forward to today and the RoS incarnation of the Gabba. It's the biggest rethink to the Gabba since day 1. This version is now as good as waterproof, using Castelli's exclusive Gore-Tex Infinium Windstopper fabric. The front is now warmer, with a light brushing, and the back panels are lighter and more water repellent than previous versions.
The shoulders are now seam sealed and the zip is covered. Even little cycling details like introducing two pockets that are easy to get to with gloves on, and an internal sleeve to keep other possessions from moving about.
In short, this is one of the true classics - made even better.

Castelli Size Guide
Where Castelli once had a reputation for making gear that suited only very small Italian folk, the Castelli women's size scale is now very similar to 'normal' UK sizing.
That said, it is primarily designed with a snug fit in mind, so if you prefer more room or are between sizes, go up rather than down. If you are still unsure, feel free to contact us.

Q. What do a 19th century Italian tailor, a designer for the Milan Ballet and the first ever lycra cycling shorts have in common?
A. They are all part of a rich 140 year history that's led to today's most recognised brand in cycling: Castelli.
Throw in a heart attack on a famous Italian climb, family feuds, Olympic gold medals and controversy in the pro peloton and it begins to sound more like a Sicilian soap opera than the backdrop to a cycling brand. But then again Castelli is no ordinary brand.
Today, Castelli's scorpion emblem is arguably the single most recognised in cycling. Iconic is an overused word these days, but the Castelli brand surely qualifies.
We first discovered Castelli on our year long ride through the Americas in 2010, when our founder Liz (pictured) wore Castelli shorts and loved them, so stocking them seemed an obvious choice. But we're almost as captivated by the story behind the name as the kit itself! For the full Castelli story (it's quite a story!), click here.
We aim to dispatch all orders within 2-3 working days, often sooner. Within the UK we use Royal Mail's Tracked 48 service - you will receive a tracking code with your order.
Next Day Delivery (guaranteed by 12pm with Royal Mail) is available on some products when ordered before 1pm. This option will be shown next to the specific product when available.
If your particular size is not shown, feel free to contact us by email at contact@velovixen.com. Please note some deliveries may take longer if we need to order a product in.
