Wearing a base layer under a cycling jersey can really improve your comfort and performance on the bike. Sometimes, your jersey needs a little helping hand to ensure your ride is the best it can be, so you feel dry for longer.

Made from a AirMesh fabric, the Stolen Goat Mesh Base Layer provides just the right amount of ventilation for when conditions sit between hot and cold. It's not boiling lobster out there and it's not freezing either - like those days you feel silly because it looks nice enough for shorts, but actually reads 10C with wind. It's nice and light under a jersey, so won't feel bulky and reduced shoulder seaming offers extra comfort.

With a lightweight construction that is super breathable, fast wicking, fast drying and has 4-way stretch, this is a garment you won't ever want to take off. Worn in summer paired with the Stolen Goat Bodyline jerseys.

The Stolen Goat Mesh Base Layer has one main focus - to draw sweat away from your skin, so you stay dry and your jersey performs to the max. The ideal year-round garment plus works great as a turbo trainer top as well!

Castelli Size Guide

Where Castelli once had a reputation for making gear that suited only very small Italian folk, the Castelli women's size scale is now very similar to 'normal' UK sizing.

That said, it is primarily designed with a snug fit in mind, so if you prefer more room or are between sizes, go up rather than down. If you are still unsure, feel free to contact us.

        Q. What do a 19th century Italian tailor, a designer for the Milan Ballet and the first ever lycra cycling shorts have in common?

        A. They are all part of a rich 140 year history that's led to today's most recognised brand in cycling: Castelli.

Throw in a heart attack on a famous Italian climb, family feuds, Olympic gold medals and controversy in the pro peloton and it begins to sound more like a Sicilian soap opera than the backdrop to a cycling brand. But then again Castelli is no ordinary brand.

Today, Castelli's scorpion emblem is arguably the single most recognised in cycling. Iconic is an overused word these days, but the Castelli brand surely qualifies.

We first discovered Castelli on our year long ride through the Americas in 2010, when our founder Liz (pictured) wore Castelli shorts and loved them, so stocking them seemed an obvious choice. But we're almost as captivated by the story behind the name as the kit itself!
